MOVIE SLATES
Every clapperboard tells a story before the first frame is even shot - and I’m glad I can get to design that story. Thanks to one of my best buddies (who’s absolutely killing it and is destined for Hollywood), I’ve had the chance to design custom clappers for a range of film and television productions. While I regularly work in or for art department, designing slates is always something special. It’s a small object with big presence - living on set, marking scenes, and often becoming a keepsake for cast and crew.
I approach each clapper like a mini art piece: blending the tone of the production and a design that makes it stand out. Whether it’s a gritty series or dramatic movie, the clapper is a functional icon and I love making it memorable.
